Buyer
Stafford (ST16) – Hybrid once trained (3 days on site/2 days WFH)
Initial 6 month contract – potential to extend
37 hrs a week with a lunchtime finish on a Friday! (08.00 – 16.30 Mon – Thurs, 08.00 – 13.00 Fri)
Up to £23.55 per hour PAYE/Up to £31.65 per hour via an umbrella company
We’re looking for a Buyer to manage NPI/NTI purchasing for an undeveloped product, at our Fortune 100 globally renowned client’s Stafford Facility in the UK. This work is dynamic and interesting; working with different internal teams and global suppliers, to bring this undeveloped product to life!
What would the Buyer do?
Manage policies, agreements, special purchasing programs & support Product line(s) NPI programs
Be responsible and accountable for the implementation of a local sourcing strategy
Provide leadership for cost reduction, sourcing, logistics and resource management
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and new product introduction activities within Purchasing
Liaison with corresponding Category Buyers and Buyers in our client’s global Manufacturing Facilities
What skills and experience will the Buyer need?
2+ years demonstrable experience in a similar purchasing role, within NPI/NTI/Manufacturing
Purchasing knowledge and experience to negotiate and understand quotations
Previous experience in managing a global supplier base including prototype solutions
Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skills
Effective communicator (written & oral) and well-developed interpersonal skills
Ability to lead teams, suppliers, and customers to effective solutions
Experience using MRP systems. MFG Pro experience is desirable (but can be taught if required)
Professional certification in Purchasing or Supply Chain. e.g. CIPS is desirable
