The role
The Buyer will support the Procurement Manager in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services required by the company. The role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring the timely delivery of goods, and maintaining accurate records of transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
In short you will
* Oversee and support supplier management to maintain strong relationships with existing and potential new suppliers.
* Assist in negotiating contracts, terms and pricing with suppliers.
* Collaborate with the procurement manager to deliver procurement processes/strategies.
* Prepare purchase orders, track the status of orders, deliveries and resolve issues related.
* Manage the cost analysis and monitoring the budget adjusting accordingly.
About you
As an assertive Buyer, you will negotiate advantageous contract terms, efficiently identify and select suppliers, control costs, and ensure the procurement of quality merchandise.
The ideal candidate will tick the below
* Bachelor’s degree, MSc or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills to enable successful negotiations with suppliers.
* Effective communication to assist the Procurement Manager and Senior Buyer
* Keen participant to attend local meetings and workshops.
* Precise judgment and strong decision-making skills.
