My client is a Food Services business looking to recruit a Buyer to join their team. You will take total ownership of your category. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement and/or category buying experience within the Food, FMCG, or retail sector that are looking to bring their knowledge and expertise to a new role.
Role:
* To improve and build the business strategy plan - reviewing and monitoring local sourcing action plans.
* Build, create, consult, negotiate, and maintain supplier relationships. With a strong focus on development, delivery lead time, 'frozen', 'flexible' and 'forecast' delivery schedules, and strong supplier optimisation.
* Manage category performance for the commodity; Guarantee the best "total cost of ownership" and be able to challenge the organisation to ensure all targets are met.
Responsibilities:
* Support the overall business growth strategy.
* Support the procurement function to manage supplier performance, developing relationships to ensure sustainability and growth across the business.
* Mapping of actual spent. (supplier mapping & supply flows, competition risks, etc)
* Create value optimisation on sourcing activity plans.
* Compliance with procurement policy, processes, and procedures.
Candidate
* Educated to degree level or with MCIPS qualifications preferable.
* Demonstrable sourcing and category buying experience, ideally within the food, FMCG, or retail sector.
* Proven, solid influencing and negotiation skills.
* Stakeholder management and personal development experience.
* First-class personal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Experienced analytical skills.
