Buyer - FMCG Household

Midlands | £Excellent salary plus car allowance

Ready for your next big move? Let's talk household, commercial strategy… and some seriously good buying.

Forget ticking boxes - this isn't just another Buyer role.

We're looking for a commercially sharp, product-savvy Buyer to join our clients team and take ownership of a key Household FMCG category. This is your chance to shape the products customers rely on every day, build exciting ranges, negotiate great deals and make a real impact on the bottom line.

What's the gig?

You'll take ownership of the Household category, from spotting opportunities and developing ranges to negotiating with suppliers and driving commercial performance.

You'll be right at the heart of the action - balancing customer needs, market trends, margins, availability and commercial targets to make sure we're offering the right products at the right price, at the right time.

One day you could be analysing sales and market data, the next negotiating with suppliers, reviewing new product opportunities or working on the next big range launch. It's fast-paced, hands-on and never boring.

What you'll be doing:

· Owning and developing a the key Household FMCG category

· Building commercially strong ranges that deliver for both customers and the business

· Using sales, market and competitor insight to spot new opportunities

· Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best products, prices, terms and promotional opportunities

· Managing supplier relationships and building strong, long-term partnerships

· Monitoring category performance, margins, sales and stock to maximise profitability

· Working closely with merchandising, marketing and wider trading teams

· Keeping ahead of market trends, competitor activity and customer behaviour

· Supporting new product development, launches and range reviews

· Making confident commercial decisions in a fast-moving retail environment

What makes you a great fit?

You're commercially savvy, naturally curious and know what makes a great FMCG range.

You'll be confident working with numbers and data, but equally comfortable getting stuck into suppliers, products and negotiations. You're someone who spots an opportunity and runs with it rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Experience across FMCG, Household, Grocery, General Merchandise or another fast-paced retail environment such as health and beauty would be ideal. Most importantly, you'll be commercially minded, proactive and comfortable working at pace.

And what's in it for you?

A role where you can genuinely make your mark.

You'll have the opportunity to influence a key category, work closely with suppliers and trading teams, and see your decisions translate directly into sales and commercial results.

You'll join a team that values ideas, initiative and getting things done - with plenty of opportunity to develop your career along the way.

Bottom line?

If you're a Buyer who loves products, numbers, negotiation and the thrill of getting a great deal, this could be your next move.

Apply early - great buying opportunities don't stay on the shelf for long.
