Business Services Officer

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Business Services Officer to join a Derbyshire-based Local Authority on a temporary contract with an initial duration of three to six months. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Mon - Fri). The role will be primarily office-based and will require travel to Chesterfield when required.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the provision of a flexible, agile and responsive business support service across the Supported Accommodation/Staying Close service. The service strengthens support for those leaving care by improving their connection with the community and family, while improving their mental health and wellbeing and making positive steps towards independence. The service also monitors accommodation provision for children in care and care leavers.

Main Duties:

* Manage a team of business services staff to provide an efficient and effective business support function ensuring services are delivered to agreed targets and objectives and meet quality standards.

* #Ensure the effective co-ordination of work streams to manage business support within own area of responsibility to support peaks and troughs in business need.

* Provide, through advice and guidance to social care professionals, operational managers and employees on relevant policies, processes and procedures ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations and legislation.

* Effectively manage the continual development of members of the team, setting objectives and monitoring performance.

* Responsible for monitoring budgets and the analysis, manipulation and presentation of information and data to inform operational and financial decisions.

* Undertake research and project work under direction of the Business Service Manager.

* Work flexibly across Children’s Services Business Services functions providing effective administrative support possibly at a different location as required.

Essential Criteria:

* Previous experience in an administrative role

* Previous supervision/team management experience

* Performance management experience

* Able to travel to multiple sites when required

Desirable Criteria:

* Previous experience of working within a Local Authority/Public Sector
