Description:

An exciting role undertaking a major change programme across this leading university to achieve their online ambitions. This will involve the evolution and creation of new processes, systems and infrastructures across the university. 1 year FTC.

We are seeking a dynamic and highly proactive Business Operations Manager to support the Commercial Director in establishing the commercial operations, set priorities and drive progress. Working across research, marketing, recruitment and student support services, you will play a critical role in building and optimising their processes, establishing new ways of working across the university, and realising strategic initiatives. We’ll be looking to you to bring structure and planning to new activities and workstreams, and to ensure progress and achievement in their delivery.

The role will involve:

Developing and implementing operational change management programmes, processes and systems to ensure efficient functioning of the new business unit

Establishing, controlling, managing and monitoring timescales and budgets, considering dependencies and recommending and/or taking appropriate action to overcome delays, difficulties or cost over-runs.

Preparing business cases which define user needs, benefits and solution options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, policy, structures, and culture change.

Being able to quickly adapt to changing priorities, new challenges, and emerging opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Developing and managing project plans from inception through to completion, tracking progress on objectives and ensuring timely delivery of results, with an eye on prioritisation and management of competing workstreams.

Planning and facilitating project meetings and workshops. Prepare and maintain all appropriate project documentation e.g. Project Brief, Project Initiation Document, Project Plans etc

Updating progress on projects to a diverse audience, bringing key stakeholders along on the journey, leading to productive and trusted ‘partnership’ working relationships across the university.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Knowledge of operations management, change management and a range of project delivery models and techniques.

Proven, successful track record in delivering business change projects across a large organisation and multi-faceted stakeholder groups.

Organised, experienced in developing and managing project plans from inception to completion, with excellent time management and prioritisation skills, particularly when managing competing workstreams.

Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across the university engaging business users at different levels/grades. Comfortable challenging at all levels of seniority to ensure the right outcomes are met.
