Location: Barking, London

Salary: £25.22 per hour PAYE / £31.42 per hour Umbrella

Contract Type: Temporary. Temp to Perm opportunities available

Our client, a prominent public sector organisation based in Barking, is seeking an experienced Business Manager to join their team.

As the lead of the borough's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements (MASA) you will be responsible for working closely with senior leaders in statutory agencies (police, health and council) to ensure the development, effective planning and support to the Safeguarding Partnership including the commissioning of services that support the partnership, performance management, learning and development and monitoring of the MASA arrangements.

Working with key partners and stakeholders across the borough to ensure cross agency objectives are in place
Be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the Safeguarding partnership and its sub-groups
Lead on the production of the annual business plan and the annual report for the partnership and ensure delivery plans for the agreed priorities are in place and effective
Manage and lead on the strategic development of the local Safeguarding Board and for coordinating the local multi agency safeguarding arrangements
Overall responsibility for the partnership's business unit providing high level management focus to the planning, development, delivery and monitoring of the priorities and objectives of the partnership, taking the lead in quality assurance and inspection activity
The role will be key in implementing the new Working Together 23 strategic requirements across the partnership working closely with senior leaders, the independent scrutineer and partnership chair to ensure they are briefed, prepared and supported to fulfil their roles effectively
With the support of the independent chair and independent scrutineer, monitor the delivery programme of the partnership, ensuring they remain on track and that priorities are clear - summarising these each year in the annual report of the partnershipWhat are we looking for?

You need to be someone who is passionate about safeguarding and have detailed safeguarding knowledge
Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a Safeguarding Business Unit
Self-motivated and experienced in management or leadership and be confident in your knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance, policies and procedures and multi-agency safeguarding arrangements, as well as being able to provide high quality advice, support and operational and strategic guidance across the partnership
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as the role requires formal plans, policies, guidance, reports and updates to partner agencies and senior leaders
