Business Development Manager – Solar

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Commission + Company Car (Tesla Model 3) + Benefits

Location: UK (Nationwide travel with base in Derby or Worcester)

Hours: Monday to Friday – no weekends

Company Overview

Our reputable client, comprising of Solar, Solar Mounting, and Energy services is a rapidly growing organisation in the renewable energy sector. With a turnover of £30 million and a goal to reach £50 million by 2026, the group has demonstrated strong and sustainable growth since its inception.

Our client specialises in agricultural and commercial solar installations, managing projects from inception to completion. This division works closely with end clients, including farmers and business owners, and collaborates with partners like Vital Energy for projects in hospitals, schools and universities.

The second-largest division is solar mounting which is focused on the design and manufacturing of ground-mounted solar systems. This division is evolving into a full EPC provider. The company also specialises in Energy in which this division primarily handles maintenance in the biomass sector.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our clients team primarily within the Solar division, with some crossover into Solar Mounting. This role will report directly to the Head of Technical Sales.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth in the commercial solar sector

* Build and maintain relationships with landlords, roofing companies, and key stakeholders

* Manage and oversee projects from planning to completion, including pricing and technical aspects

* Identify new business opportunities and markets for solar installations

* Prepare and submit bids for new projects, working closely with the bid writing team

* Regularly travel across the UK to meet clients and oversee projects

Ideal Candidate Profile

* Minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial solar sales or a related industry

* Strong technical knowledge of solar installations and project management

* Proven track record in business development and client relationship management

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Experience in PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) is highly desirable
