Business Development Manager - Plant Hire 

Salary – up to £50k, Company Car & Bonus Structure

The recruitment group is working with a leading provider of mechanical-powered access solutions company that cover the whole of the UK & ROI.

Purpose of the Business Development Manager role:

The Business Development Manager will have to be able to understand and align with the target customer’s needs, requiring very high standards across everything they do. Each BDM has a territory and is expected to know every key prospect in that territory, to know projects from planning stages till completion, covering any and all possible industries. That knowledge and peer references will be used to open doors; telesales, appointment making, presenting (planned, appropriate, structured), and clinching deals.

The Business Development Manager must ensure positive sustained business growth by actively seeking, contacting, and developing new customers working in conjunction with the Sales Director deploying a targeted contact schedule and development strategy. The Business Development Manager will build a portfolio and maintain and builds upon these existing customer relationships, following existing contact and engagement schedules.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager

Seeking opportunities for business development within a defined area.
Responsible for heading up their expansion in new markets as well as the continued expansion of accounts they have brought on.

Driving peak performance and sales success across the organization.
Creating, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements.
You will be instrumental in devising and implementing the strategy for meeting sales performance targets.

Manage and complete sales reports on a weekly basis providing commentary and forecast information.

Responsible for providing the customer with accurate and effective product knowledge to assist with machine selection, quotations & pricing agreements.

Pricing and quoting, creatively and flexibly to ensure customer growth and profitability.
Maintains potential and existing customer contact records and schedules, ensuring regular development contact with existing & potential customers physically, by phone, email and social media, etc.

Comply with all QMS procedures.
Maintains high-quality relationships with customers and is usually the customer’s primary contact, other than day-to-day order processing.

Show an understanding of the challenges facing the industry at present and illustrate knowledge of the operational attention to detail that will be required to succeed within the industry.
Experience/knowledge requirements for Business Development Manager role.  

Previous experience and Knowledge of Plant Hire Equipment is ESSENTIAL 
Demonstrable track record of customer growth and portfolio management in the powered
    access industry.

Good MS Office and computer literacy skills.
Hold a clean UK driving license.
A High level of tenacity, drive, and motivation to deliver impressive results.
