Job Title: Business Development Manager - Defence

Location: Remote

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Package

The Client

Our client are a global electrical safety business who provide products that protect people, machines and the environment against the direct and indirect hazards of electrical currents. They offer these solutions to a variety of industries including Healthcare, Defence / MOD, Energy, Utilities, renewables, oil & gas and Rail.

They are looking to add a Business Development Manager to their team with experience in the defence / MOD sector to their team.

The Role of Business Development Manager – Defence

The purpose of the role of Business Development Manager is to plan and achieve profitable sales of our clients products into industrial settings in line with the business strategy and objectives to achieve budgeted volume and profit targets.

* Manage and grow existing accounts in line with annual targets

* Develop new accounts within this sector in line with annual targets

* Carry out client demonstrations/trials

* Manage and report on an ongoing pipeline via. the CRM and report back with any risks or new opportunities

* Regular analysis of competitor activity and report back to the business on a regular basis

* Be up to date on all legislation and inform our client of any new legislation in this sector that could impact (positively or negatively) the organisation

* Regularly networking and attending trade shows to develop new business pipeline

* Creation of profitable quotations ensuring a minimum of 32% net profit is achieved

* To proactively manage and continually evaluate all account activity, and provide options, recommendations and solutions to potential issues and opportunities.

* To maintain close communication with other functions to ensure smooth implementation of all equipment and providing excellent customer service

* To provide accurate and timely sales forecasts

* To maintain accurate account files within the CRM system and administrate effectively within deadlines.

The Person

* Proactive proven Business Development Manager with experience of working in a similar industry.

* Experience of selling a technical solution

* Experience of selling into Defence, MOD or harbours and vessels or similar would be advantageous but not essential.

* Clean driving licence

* Proven track record of delivering stretched sales targets
