Description:
The Role
We are currently working with an established M&E contractor based in Warrington, delivering mechanical and electrical packages across the region. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to grow our pipeline by creating and converting opportunities with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors.
You will work closely with our estimating, pre-construction and operational teams, with real influence over which projects we pursue and how we position ourselves. This is a relationship-led role — you will be out in front of contractors, not behind a desk.
What You'll Be Doing
* Building and maintaining relationships with pre-construction, procurement and commercial teams at Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors
* Creating opportunities from early market intelligence, getting in ahead of formal tender
* Getting onto bid lists, frameworks and preferred supplier arrangements
* Managing a live pipeline and reporting conversion and forecasts to senior management
* Attending pre-tender meetings, framework days, interviews and site visits alongside the technical team
What We're Looking For
* Proven business development experience in construction — ideally with an M&E contractor, main contractor or specialist subcontractor
* Demonstrable success winning work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors
* Working knowledge of M&E delivery and the tender, framework and prequalification process
* Commercially astute — able to assess opportunity value, margin and risk
* Self-motivated, confident presenting at senior level, and comfortable managing your own diary
* Full UK driving licence
Package
* Salary up to £70,000 including bonus
* Company car or car allowance
* Permanent, full-time, based in Warrington with regional travel to clients and sites
