Business Development Manager - Food Manufacturing

Bolton

£35,000 - £40,000 + Net Profit Bonus

Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

Are you experienced in scaling Food Manufacturing or Foodservice businesses and looking for a rewarding role where you can make a big impact at a company that is poised to be a major exporter in the North West?

This new Food Manufacturing business is already working closely with organisations such as the GM Growth Hub to scale rapidly and meet demand from foodservice & wholesale clients across the UK & EMEA. They're investing significantly to acquire new equipment and increase output, and they're now looking for someone to join them as they enter an exciting new chapter.

In this role you'll work closely with the company owner to identify opportunities and implement initiatives to increase efficiencies, reduce waste, improve profitability, penetrate new markets and secure new clients.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a blend of experience in both sales/business development or commercial activities along with a technical understanding of the food manufacturing sector, such as processes, regulations and supply chain structure.

You'll be responsible for:

Working with the company owner to identify & implement opportunities for growth & improvement e.g production processes, new equipment, new markets, investment partners
Handling relationships with existing customers, ensuring overall satisfaction and securing further business
Generating new business by following up on leads, visiting trade shows and developing the company's brand
Researching and delivering waste & cost reduction measures to improve profitability

Ideal candidates will have:

Coming from a Food / Beverage Manufacturing or Foodservice industry background
Experience in business development or sales, or possessing a strong commercial awareness through a customer-facing Food Manufacturing role
Strong negotiation and communication skills, capable of working with a diverse client base
Full driving license and comfortable with travel, such as for tradeshows and international exhibitions
