Description:

Senior Business Development Manager: ICP Connections (I&C)

Location: Fully remote, with extensive travel to clients and sites
Salary: £75,000 to £85,000 basic, plus uncapped commission
Sector: ICP / IDNO / utility connections

About our client

Our client is one of the fastest-growing independent connections providers (ICPs) in the UK, delivering electricity connections predominantly to the industrial and commercial (I&C) market. They sit within a wider group with genuine in-house capability across IDNO, EV charging, solar, BESS and COP1/2 metering, all delivered under one project approach. That means one team, one plan and one point of accountability for the customer.

The group is scaling fast, with new frameworks, new capability and new territory, and this role sits right at the front of its growth story.

The role

You'll build and convert a strong pipeline of I&C new connections opportunities, covering the ICP side of the business initially. You'll bring your own network of developers, main contractors and consultants, and use it to open doors, build trust and win business that plays to the group's full-service model.

This is a hunter role, not a desk-based one. You'll be happiest on site walks, at industry events or at dinner with a client, and just as confident picking up the phone to open a new account. You'll report to the Managing Director (Infrastructure).

The wider group

As you grow, you'll be able to cross-sell the group's full range of services:

Data: energy data collection
Analytics: energy data analytics for business insight
Connect: installation, maintenance and upgrades for utility metering
Works (ICP): multi-utility connections
Charge: EV charging for businesses, using energy data to keep costs down
Zero: net zero software to analyse energy data
Infra: electricity and gas network asset adoptionKey responsibilities

Proactively identify, prospect and win new I&C connections business across your verticals and network
Build and maintain a qualified pipeline against agreed targets, from first contact through to signed contract
Get in front of customers through site visits, developer meetings, hospitality, conferences and trade events
Identify opportunities early in the project lifecycle and build relationships with the relevant decision makers
Own and grow a personal network of developers, main contractors, consultants and landowners active in the I&C space
Position the group's full capability (connections, metering, IDNO, EV, solar and BESS) as a single, de-risked solution
Lead commercial negotiations and close contracts, working with the technical and delivery teams for a smooth handover
Keep an accurate, live pipeline in the CRM and report progress against targetsAbout you
