The Company
This company is an innovative food production business, that is leading the way in the sustainable food production sector. They are going through an exciting growth phase as they look to innovate and leverage cutting edge technologies in order to achieve maximum yields and the highest quality produce.

The Role
As business development manager, you will work closely with the sales and commercial director, managing and developing key customer relationships. The business development manager will work on the successful attraction and onboarding of key clients in the retail or food service sector where they are both the key point of contact for clients as well as the face of the customer pool into the business.

You will manage P&L responsibility for the assigned customers and be able to make data-backed decisions which will help support and develop the commercial strategy of the business. As a key figure in gaining, developing and managing the key customer accounts, you will work closely with the management team on the overall commercial strategy.

The business development manager will understand requirements from customers and internal stakeholders, providing crucial market knowledge and data to the rest of the organisation, enabling them to recommend and develop marketing strategies and programs.

The Person
The ideal candidate will be an experienced account manager or business development manager, with exposure to the fresh produce / high care food industry and will have a proven track record in a commercial sales role in the retail, foodservice or wholesale sector.

Exposure to fresh produce logistics and P&L accountability will be required for this position as will the ability to lead key commercial negotiations and communicate and suggest at all levels both internally and within the customer base. You will have a proven track-record in delivering success in terms of key account growth and new business aquisition in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
