Business Development Manager
Northern England | Home-based with UK travel
Up to £40,000 + bonus + benefits
We’re looking for an energetic and commercially ambitious Business Development Manager to join a well-established British manufacturer with a growing portfolio of design-led home and lifestyle products.
This is a true new-business role. You’ll be opening doors, creating opportunities and winning customers not simply managing an inherited account base.
You’ll be able to target customers across:
* Homewares, interiors and textiles
* Flooring, DIY and home improvement
* Garden centres, gifting and lifestyle
* Retail, e-commerce and wholesale
* Distributors and buying groups
* Private-label and own-brand manufacturing
You’ll take opportunities from initial research and prospecting through to customer meetings, commercial development and first order. You’ll also manage a small number of existing accounts, identifying opportunities to introduce new products and grow revenue.
About you
You’ll have relevant sales or business development experience and ideally understand how to sell into retailers, wholesalers, distributors or consumer brands.
You’ll be:
* Confident opening conversations with new customers
* Commercially curious and quick to spot opportunities
* Comfortable engaging with buyers and senior decision-makers
* Persistent, organised and proactive
* Motivated by targets and winning profitable business
This is an opportunity to represent an established British business with strong brands, exciting products, UK manufacturing and significant private-label capabilities.
You’ll be home-based in Northern England, with travel to customers, industry events and the company’s Yorkshire headquarters.
