A brilliant opportunity has come up to work with a renowned packaging company that specialises in high quality thermoformed packaging. The company has been running for 40+ years as a leading manufacturer and are now seeking a Business Development Manager who can generate new business opportunities, retain existing accounts as well as reactive new accounts.

£45,000 - £55,000 (OTE £75,000 - £80,000)

In return our client is offering a great salary reflecting experience plus car allowance or car, commission, life insurance, 27 days holiday+ bank holidays, pension, laptop, and phone.

The role is a hybrid working role where you will be expected to be on the road 2-3 days a week prospecting new customer and developing new opportunities in food, horticulture, manufacturing, medical, retail, cosmetics, electronics and more. Furthermore, you will manage and nurture a small number of key customers with a portfolio worth of around £200,000, but also create new opportunities to cross-sell.

Your day-to-day duties will be based around business development creating new opportunities for the company to increase their clientele. Your role includes dealing with new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, services prospection, negotiation and commercial follow up of UK customers and branching out further afield acting in the markets targeted by the organisation. You will play an active part in the development of the sales budget, monitor revenue and margins, promote the image of the company and you will continue with the improvement of the initiatives of the company.

They are looking to recruit the successful candidate immediately; however, you must have or hold:

2-4 years+ in a Business Development type role.
Have a great understanding of the UK market.
Understand thermoforming or similar industry. Alternatively, a sales professional who has had a successful career in packaging would be ideal.
You must be happy developing new business opportunities and building on your successes.
Have the ability to achieve a new business target of around £200,000+.
A sense of business relationships and customer service.
High interest in the technical dimension of the products.
Note – If you have sales experience outside of packaging you will be considered if you have an outstanding record in new business sales.
