Anne Corder Recruitment is recruiting for an ambitious and growing Peterborough-based business looking to add experienced Business Development Managers to its commercial team.

This is a genuine new-business role with plenty of autonomy. You’ll be developing relationships with business owners across the Midlands, identifying new opportunities and building your own network and pipeline through face-to-face meetings, prospecting, networking, referrals and partnerships. You’ll also have access to existing CRM leads, but the successful person will be someone who is confident creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive.

The business provides commercial solutions that help organisations reduce costs, improve efficiency and work more sustainably, across areas including energy procurement, solar, EV charging and LED lighting.

What you'll be doing

Generating and developing new B2B opportunities across the Midlands

Building relationships directly with business owners and decision-makers

Prospecting, networking and developing commercial partnerships

Converting opportunities from the CRM alongside generating your own leads

Attending face-to-face client meetings and managing your own diary

Developing relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals

Working alongside Business Development, Marketing and Operations to maximise opportunities

Taking ownership of your pipeline from initial conversation through to commercial opportunity

What we're looking for

You'll already have a track record in face-to-face B2B sales or business development and be comfortable approaching business owners and senior decision-makers.

You won't need somebody constantly telling you what to do next. You'll be proactive, commercially minded, resilient and motivated by targets. You'll enjoy meeting people, spotting opportunities and finding different ways to get a conversation started.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What's on offer?

£35,000 basic salary + attractive commission, alongside 36 days' annual leave including bank holidays, the option to buy or sell holiday, company retreats and R&R weekends, clear progression opportunities, laptop and phone, and a car allowance following successful completion of probation, plus subsidised travel and accommodation.

The role is Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, although you'll have flexibility around your diary and client meetings. The position is based in the Peterborough area and we're looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
