SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.  
Mayplas; a specialist insulation manufacturing business within SIG Group, produces a wide range of acoustic, fire and thermal insulation products. 

We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager for Midlands and Southern region who will develop and monitor strategy and sales within the sales region for acoustic, fire and thermal products. Gain and maintain full area market knowledge of existing and potential architects, contractors, developers, distributors and merchants. Establishing a credible pipeline through specification and project tracking.

What does the role involve?
•    Generation of sales through current and new customers.
•    Forecast of accurate targets for revenue and profitability by customer. 
•    Delivering and drive exceptional customer service and meeting customers’ expectations to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.     
•    Have a good view of projects across the region ensuring effective communication between internal sales team and senior stakeholders. 

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the SIG behaviours and promote the highest standards of business ethics and compliance with corporate requirements. Ensure that all employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner. Engender a “Zero Harm” culture which recognises and promotes the absolute importance of health and safety and environmentally responsible behaviour. To lead by example in actively promoting and instilling a culture where health and safety of every team member is the number one priority.

The successful candidate will require:
•    Proven extensive experience and performance in sales of acoustic, fire and/or thermal products.
•    Strong industry knowledge and experience.
•    Natural people influencer.
•    Strong analytical and data management skills.
•    Sales and customer experience.
•    Understands and can articulate the value proposition.
•    Ability to think forward and creatively with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
•    Ability to identify gaps and provide solutions.
•    Highly motivated.
•    Construction industry knowledge preferential (not pre-requisite).
•    Versatile approach to different levels of internal and external stakeholders.
