Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Field Based Role – Covering Scotland (mainly in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh)

Remuneration: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + £80,000 OTE + Company Car + Profit Related Pay + Pension + Career Progression

The Role:

We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist contracting business looking for a Business Development Manager to take ownership of Scotland.

This is a field-based role where you'll develop new business, strengthen existing customer relationships and build long-term partnerships across your territory. Working closely with the Estimating and Operations teams, you'll manage opportunities from first conversation through to contract award, helping to grow market share across Scotland.

As Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for:

* Identifying and securing new business opportunities across Scotland.

* Building relationships with contractors, procurement teams, commercial managers and key decision-makers.

* Generating opportunities through networking, referrals, industry events and proactive business development.

* Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.

* Working alongside the Estimating and Operations teams to develop competitive, winning proposals.

* Attending customer meetings, site visits and industry exhibitions throughout Scotland.

* Maintaining an active sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.

* Monitoring market activity, competitor movements and future opportunities.

* Delivering against agreed sales targets while contributing to the long-term growth of the business.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys developing new business and building long-term customer relationships.

You'll ideally have:

* A proven track record in Business Development, Sales or Account Management.

* Experience winning new business within a B2B environment.

* Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

* The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and procurement teams.

* A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.

* Strong commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset.

* A full UK Driving Licence.

Experience within any of the following sectors would be advantageous:

* Forestry, Landscaping, Vegetation Management, Arboriculture, Grounds Maintenance, Utilities, Rail, Highways, Environmental Services &Construction

· Knowledge of public sector tendering and procurement processes would also be beneficial, although not essential.
