Do you have good understanding of the UK Rail Industry, either from a sales, project management or consultancy perspective, and want to work in Business Development for a leader in digital innovation?

Ford & Stanley – The Specialists in Digital are recruiting a Business Development Manager for a leader in digital solutions in the Rail Industry.

The Opportunity

Working for a business that has been established for over 30 years, providing digital solutions into some of the biggest names in Rail Manufacturing and Train Operating, this role would be a good fit for an experienced Business Development Manager/Account Manager or potentially a good first step into sales for an Engineer or Project Manager with good experience within UK Rail.

The company have an existing customer base and are developing new products to take to market, providing even more opportunity to win new business and maximise revenue from existing clients.

Location:

Newcastle – On-site weekly with travel to clients throughout the UK.

Role and Responsibilities:

Create innovative and high-value solutions to solve engineering problems.
Understand the innovation and R&D challenges inherent in delivering safe, efficient and reliable solutions to the rail industry.
Display good knowledge of the current and projected UK Rail programmes.
The Candidate

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience working within the UK Rail Industry, understanding how different businesses work together to build, maintain and operate fleets of Rolling Stock within the UK.

Previous sales/business development/account management experience would be advantageous, but suitable experience within Rail Project Management or Consultancy will also be considered.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Understanding of UK Rolling Stock and how TOCs, ROSCOs and Maintainers work together,
Previous Account Management, Business Development or Project management experience
Engaging personality and communication style.
