The Client:

Our Clients site is based in London and is one of the three landing gear maintenance facilities within our client’s network. The 13,400 square meters shop is fully equipped with machinery for all aircraft undercarriage related work, including machining, bush manufacturing, NDT, electrical harness repair, hydraulic as well as plating shops and is capable to accommodate any common landing gear type. 99% in-house capability means little subcontracting activities.

Role Information – Bush Fit Honer:

Job Title: Bush Fit Honer

Location: London

Salary: £28,000+

Shift Pattern: Mon – Fri / Tues – Sat (dependant on business needs)

Summary of duties – Bush Fit Honer:

As an experienced Bush Fit Honer, your responsibilities will be:

* Check component and bush log for accuracy.

* Install bushes / bearings. Check bushes dimensionally. Using workshop manuals and drawings.

* Using imperial calibrated measuring equipment.

* Swage bushings with the suitable method (pressure, roller, stake, material displacing).

* Wire lock bolts / bushes.

* Use of cryogenics / ovens

* Carry out hardness checks of components.

* To maintain knowledge of HPA’s working procedures pertinent for the job function;

* Performance of tasks delegated by the Area Supervisor.

* Hone bushes to final size.

* Carry out hardness tests using appropriate machine.

* An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures.

* You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.

* You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience

* All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.

In order to be successful in the role of Bush Fit Honer you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

* Ability to measure using imperial measuring equipment.

* Engineering apprenticeship - Preffered

* Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred.

* Ability to work under pressure

* Accuracy and job satisfaction

* Well organised, Punctual, Quality conscious, Flexible and The ability to work within a team environment

Personal Qualities:

* Great team player, Good communicator, Punctual and reliable.

* Honest and trustworthy.

* Excellent approach to Quality, Health, and safety.

Education and Qualifications:

* Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent

* Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English

Working Conditions:

* The position requires from time to time flexibility in working hours including working overtime at weekends.

* The nature of the job requires the applicant to come into contact with various greases and oils
