Job Title
Building Surveyor – Client-Side Estate Work & Consultancy Mix

Level
Assistant Surveyor through to Senior Surveyor

Location
City of London

Salary and Package
£40,000–£75,000, commensurate with experience and level

The Opportunity

Join a boutique consultancy offering a blend of embedded client-side estate work and traditional building surveying. You’ll gain direct client exposure, responsibility for your own projects and a broad range of experience within a respected practice.

The opportunity is open to candidates from Assistant through to Senior Surveyor level, with responsibilities tailored to your experience. You could be developing your skills and working towards chartership, or already qualified and looking for a varied role with greater project ownership.

About the Role

You’ll split your time approximately equally between working as an embedded surveyor for a prestigious London estate and delivering the consultancy’s wider surveying instructions.

It’s an opportunity to understand a property portfolio in depth while continuing to build the technical breadth that comes from consultancy work.

Client-Side Estate Projects – Approximately 50%

Delivering professional services, planned maintenance and projects across commercial, retail and residential buildings for one of London’s Great Estates

Acting as an embedded surveyor, working directly with the estate client

Undertaking site inspections, managing contractors and overseeing the quality of work

Reporting on progress and coordinating delivery with the Director

Traditional Consultancy Surveying – Approximately 50%

Undertaking pre-acquisition surveys and defect investigations

Preparing schedules of condition and dilapidations reports

Supporting party wall instructions and contract administration

Managing varied commercial and residential instructions across London

About You

At least 12 months’ experience in a building surveying role

Technical knowledge appropriate to your level across professional surveying and project work

Clear communication skills and confidence dealing with clients

An organised approach to managing your workload

MRICS qualification or progress towards the APC would be welcome, with support available for those working towards chartership. Experience with estate portfolios, leasehold property or traditional buildings would also be useful.

You aren’t expected to have experience in every area. The practice values a willingness to learn, a good work ethic and the ability to take responsibility as your experience develops.

Why Apply?

Combine embedded client-side experience with a varied consultancy workload

Take responsibility for work suited to your experience

Develop across both project and professional surveying

Receive mentorship and full APC support from a practice with a 100% first-time pass record

Build your career within a supportive team with structured working hours
