Avalon are working wityh a social housing provider to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor to join its property team.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware professional to work across a varied property portfolio. You will support the delivery of reactive maintenance, planned investment and property improvement works, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

Working closely with colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders, you will provide professional surveying advice and help ensure properties are maintained effectively while supporting wider compliance and investment objectives.

Key Responsibilities

As a Building Surveyor, you will:

* Manage reactive maintenance, property improvement works, inspections and condition surveys.

* Support stock condition programmes, void management, contractor procurement and tendering.

* Assist with contract administration, project management, specifications and technical reporting.

* Work with internal teams and contractors to maintain quality, safety, compliance and value for money.

About You

The successful Building Surveyor will have:

* HND, HNC, degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline, alongside relevant property experience.

* Experience in maintenance, asset management, capital works, condition surveys and property data management.

* Knowledge of procurement, contract administration, project management and construction health and safety.

* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a customer-focused, collaborative and solutions-driven approach.

Essential Requirement

* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this position.
