This is a senior role responsible for ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, health and safety legislation, and wider regulatory requirements.

As the key contact for residents, stakeholders and regulators, you will drive building safety compliance, oversee Building Safety Cases, maintain the Golden Thread of information, and ensure a proactive approach to risk management and resident engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping building safety strategy, influencing organisational decision-making, and ensuring residents remain safe in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the delivery of Building Safety Cases, resident engagement programmes and compliance requirements across designated buildings.

* Act as the primary point of contact for building safety matters with residents, occupiers, contractors and external stakeholders.

* Develop and maintain Building Safety Case Reports, ensuring risks are identified, assessed and effectively mitigated.

* Own and maintain the Golden Thread of building safety information, ensuring records remain accurate, accessible and compliant.

* Oversee maintenance, repair and improvement works, ensuring contractor competence and compliance with safety requirements.

* Provide assurance that buildings are managed in accordance with fire safety strategies, statutory obligations and building registration requirements.

* Establish and operate Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR) processes and ensure incidents are managed appropriately.

* Lead resident engagement initiatives, providing clear communication and promoting awareness of safety responsibilities.

* Monitor contractor performance and challenge non-compliance where necessary to maintain safety standards.

* Produce reports and recommendations for senior leaders, providing assurance on building safety performance and compliance.

* Respond to emergency situations and support business continuity arrangements where required.

About You:

* Strong experience delivering building safety or fire safety compliance within housing, asset management or the built environment.

* A detailed understanding of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and wider building safety legislation.

* Experience managing Building Safety Cases and maintaining building safety information systems.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with residents, regulators, contractors and senior stakeholders.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and implement effective solutions.

* Experience managing contractor performance and ensuring competence requirements are met.

* A collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence across a complex organisation.

* The ability to work flexibly and attend sites, evening meetings and emergency situations when required.

Qualifications Required:

* Relevant Asset Management, Construction, Building Surveying or Fire Safety qualification (Degree, Diploma or equivalent).

* Professional membership such as RICS, IFE, IFSM, IOSH, IIRSM, CQI or equivalent (or working towards membership).

* Strong technical understanding of building safety legislation, fire safety principles and compliance requirements.
