Building Physics Engineer

Based in Plymouth

Competitive salary including performance related bonus, 25 days holiday + bank holidays + pension + medical & life cover.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Building Physics Engineer to join our business. You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the building physic sector. The position provides excellent career opportunities in this growing business and combined with a great benefits package. The role will require you to be client facing, experienced and will be comfortable developing, supporting and mentoring others in the team

Ideally you will be based in the Plymouth area but they will consider people who live in the South West of England as they have other offices that maybe easier for the successful candidate to travel to.

For this role you will need:

* A degree in mechanical, building services engineering, or equivalent qualification, or can demonstrate sufficient suitable design experience.

* A Track record of work on a variety of building services designs and delivery of small and large scale projects

* Be passionate, driven and determined to develop your career to a higher status

* IT literate and with relevant experience of design and modelling software (IES, SAP (Elmhurst)), Microsoft Office, Autocad / REVIT.

* Be Level 5 Energy Assessor certificate and be a qualified LCC Assessor

* Hold a full UK driving license

* Understanding of setting and managing budgets, and making sound financial decisions

The role:

* You will be able to contribute to the development and growth of the company by identifying new opportunities and potential areas for growth and also maintaining and developing existing client relationships

* Complete Energy assessment of buildings using software packages (eg IES software) and Thermal 3D model simulations to meet client and design requirements

* Daylight factor and climate-based daylight modelling simulations and support design submissions to meet BREEAM criteria,

* Produce Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) technology reports

* Produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) for commercial or domestic developments and energy assessments for new or existing build dwellings

* Produce budgets for clients based on their specifications and monitor spend to ensure that, as far as possible, projects are delivered within their budget and time scales. Identify scope and schedule changes, in accordance with the change control process, maintain planning and cost control on all scopes
