Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated team. As a Building Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of our diverse portfolio of properties, ranging from municipal buildings to community centres. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong technical background in building maintenance to contribute to the well-being of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to identify and address issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building infrastructure.
Perform repairs and renovations as necessary to maintain the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of council-owned properties.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Collaborate with colleagues and external contractors to coordinate major maintenance projects and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and any relevant documentation.Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably within a public sector or similar environment.
Strong technical proficiency in plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building maintenance techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, residents, and contractors.
Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and willingness to adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications would be advantageous.Benefits:
