Are you a qualified BSL Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting deaf and hearing-impaired children? Do you hold a Level 2 or Level 3 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification and want to make a genuine difference in a child's education?

A highly regarded primary school in Hornchurch is seeking a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Deaf Provision from September. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an inclusive mainstream setting, supporting pupils with hearing impairments to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The RoleAs a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of hearing needs within the school's specialist Deaf Provision. Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals, speech and language therapists, and families, you will help create an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.

You will use British Sign Language (BSL) to facilitate communication, support classroom learning, adapt resources where necessary, and encourage pupils' independence both inside and outside of the classroom.

The school is particularly keen to hear from candidates with a Level 2 or Level 3 BSL qualification, although candidates with relevant experience supporting deaf children are also encouraged to apply.

Experience within a Deaf Provision, SEND setting, primary school, or specialist education environment is highly desirable.
