Bookkeeper

Scout recruiting is currently resouring for a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our Stamford based clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and supporting our accounting functions. Duties

* Record and maintain financial transactions using accounting software Sage 50

* Responsible for keeping the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Nominal Ledger up to date and accurate.

* Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports as required

* Apply and process VAT correctly and produce quarterly VAT returns

* Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims

* Support month-end and year-end closing procedures

* Maintain organised financial records in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations

* Credit control

Requirements

* Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a small to medium organisation

* Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero

* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management

* Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity

* Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and external partners

* Basic knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
