We are currently looking for an experienced book keeper to join one of our customer accountancy practices based in Telford Shropshire
Job Purpose
To align with the business and work with their clients to process financial documents, performing accounting work and completing basic administrative tasks.
Duties
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper who is looking to join an established, local firm.
As an experience bookkeeper, you will be providing a high level bookkeeping service to their clients. You will be carrying out a broad scope of duties mainly bookkeeping, VAT returns, CIS returns and Administration where applicable. Your main duties will include:
* Reconciling the key control data in the bookkeeping software with original documents
* Preparation of client’s CIS and VAT Returns from a varied range of data when required
* Directly consulting with clients to ensure all needs are met.
* Ensuring all working papers are complete, accurate and fully referenced
* Provide help and assistance to the trainees within the firm.
Skills / Ability / Experience
You will ideally be working in a similar role. You should have a comprehensive understanding of the industry but the successful candidate will be provided with in-house training to enhance their skills in the duties outlined above. You must also have the below skills and experience:
* Experience of accounting software's such as Sage Line 50, and cloud-based solutions such as Sage, Xero or Quickbooks would be advantageous.
* High attention to detail
* Strong communication skills and confident in liaising with colleagues and clients at all levels
* Ability to work prioritise and manage your own workload to ensure deadlines are met
* Be able to work in a dynamic, growing team with the confidence to work independently
* Be I.T. proficient with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Working Hours
The office working hours are 37.5 hours per week with the option of working hybrid (2 days from home / 3 in the office). Flexibility is also available for working hours as we operate a 'Core Hours' 10am-4pm system.

You will be rewarded with a salary in line with level of qualification and experience.
You will also be provided with ongoing career development and progression opportunities - as well as offering an opportunity to attend outside tuition courses, first class in-house training is available from colleagues within the firm. You will be working from the spacious offices with onsite parking and facilities but working at clients premises will also be needed at times.
30 days annual leave + Bank Holidays.
