BMS & Controls Integration Engineer

£55,000 - £70,000 DOE + Package

London & South East / Field-Based

As a BMS & Controls Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for surveying, designing, installing, and commissioning integrations between commercial building systems and a cloud-based energy platform.

Working closely with facilities teams, end users, and specialist contractors, you will oversee projects from initial site assessment through to successful commissioning and handover.

The role offers a mixture of field-based engineering, technical design, commissioning, and client-facing responsibilities, providing exposure to a wide variety of building types and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys to assess BMS infrastructure, HVAC assets, and integration requirements.
Produce technical documentation, integration designs, and scope of works.
Install and commission controllers, gateways, metering systems, and communications infrastructure.
Configure and troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based integrations.
Support cloud onboarding, point mapping, and control logic validation.
Commission interoperability solutions between legacy and modern building systems.
Maintain accurate site records, drawings, and commissioning documentation.
Liaise with clients, facilities management teams, and subcontractors throughout project delivery.
Diagnose and resolve integration and networking issues across multiple sites.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working within Building Management Systems (BMS) or Building Automation.
Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and building controls integration.
Experience commissioning and troubleshooting commercial BMS systems.
Understanding of HVAC plant including AHUs, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, and VRF systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
Experience working with low-voltage controls, RS485 networks, and IP-based systems.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple sites.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience

Experience with Trend, Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, or similar BMS platforms.
Exposure to IoT, smart buildings, or energy management technologies.
Experience integrating HVAC central controllers and third-party interfaces.
Understanding of networking principles including IP addressing, subnetting, and VLANs.
Experience producing technical drawings and integration documentation.
