Title: BIM Manager / Digital Engineering Lead

Office Location: Blackfriars, London

Salary Range: £60,000 - £80,000 basic plus package, depending on experience.

Our Client are a specialist engineering contractor known for designing and delivering some of London’s most complex and innovative civil engineering projects. They focus on quality and innovation, developing smart engineering solutions to complex problems and enabling fast, safe, and high-quality delivery through our risk-based approach and integrated in-house supply chain and support services. Their in-house Construction Engineering Team (CET) excels in providing temporary works sequences, solution design, and digital modelling.

Your Role:

As the BIM Manager / Lead, you will be crucial in bridging their internal Construction Engineering Team (CET), Preconstruction Team, Project Delivery Team and external permanent work designers. You will drive and develop sustainable solutions for their clients, align digital strategy with business objectives and ensure technical excellence across their projects. This role offers exciting design engineering challenges, the opportunity to influence the construction process and contribute to ground-breaking projects while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Excellence:

* Lead initial discussions with clients and stakeholders to develop concepts.

* Manage cross-business information management protocols and maintain relevant business accreditations.

* Authorize deliverables, ensuring presentation and technical content meet high standards.

* Lead third-party reviews as required.

Delivery:

* Develop and implement BIM strategies, standards, and workflows for efficient project delivery from pre-construction to completion.

* Define design delivery timeframes, develop CET design programs, and ensure compliance with industry standards and ISO 19650.

* Manage and maintain BIM data and project documentation.

* Report to project teams and clients on program and progress, managing overall delivery and expectations.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

* Set development requirements and technical strategy for CET.

* Implement lessons learned from previous projects and best practices into new projects.

* Drive technical development and CPD for the digital engineering team.

* Promote innovations during tender and delivery phases to clients and external parties.

Management, Leadership, Strategy:

* Monitor team spend relative to budgets, drive efficiency, and manage design change on projects.

* Align team strategy with business objectives and support the development of procedures and processes.

* Manage recruitment strategy, develop team capability, and provide necessary training.

* Ensure the quality and accuracy of models and deliverables, creating training plans for junior team members.

Carbon Reduction:

* Promote innovation and excellence in carbon reduction on current and future projects.

Desired Skills:

* Proven experience in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.

* Expertise in BIM strategies, standards and workflows.

* Strong leadership and team management skills.

* Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

* Commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement.

* Extensive experience creating and analysing 3D models using Revit.

* Experience in using AutoCAD.

* Understanding of temporary construction structures.

* Preconstruction experience

* Effective communication and problem-solving skills to address Requests for Information (RFIs) and collaborate with stakeholders.
