Description:

Damicor are actively recruiting for a Bid Writer to start work in Warrington for a well established construction company.

ROLE PURPOSE

* To write persuasive proposals in support of winning new business, including information and document compilation and best practice capture.

* Produce market leading PQQs, tender submission, and other bidding and business development collateral.

* To write and prepare bid submissions to meet tender requirements and exceed quality expectations.

* To assist the bid team by co-ordinating documents through a structured review process.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Main responsibilities are as follows:

* Writing, editing and production of bespoke and specific submission documents and material. This includes the gathering, collating and writing of material from subject matter experts in order to meet the requirements for pre-qualification and tender submissions

* Ensure questions are properly understood and researched, answers differentiate our offering and are written for the appropriate audience

* Work to a programme of deliverables to meet tender requirements, co-ordinating activities with the bid team

* Maintain continuous and frequent contact with the work winning and bid teams

* Lead production of market-leading submission materials ensuring PQQs and tender submissions are planned, managed and coordinated effectively and within strict time constraints, including allocation of tasks, undertaking briefings and resolution of technical tasks with subject matter experts

* Capture and support development of bid ‘win themes’ from tender strategy meetings

* Carry out independent and critical reviews of submission documents

* Liaise with Pre-construction Managers, Bid Managers, and Account Managers producing bespoke material to support business development and account management activities

* Facilitate post tender review meetings to determine lessons learnt and ensure these are fed back into subsequent submissions

* Keep abreast of proposal best practice, including guidance to less experienced staff and those from other areas of the business

* Coordinate and produce case studies, value reports, brochures, presentations and other required collateral/communications material to support account and opportunity engagement

PERSONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

The following qualities and experience are essential:

* A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Previous experience in work winning/tendering environment

* Previous experience of bid writing and preparing quality submissions (2 years minimum within a similar role)

* Thorough knowledge and experience of the techniques and methods of proposal writing, general management and the requirements for quality presentations and customer-focused communication

* Excellent working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office software

* High attention to detail with the ability to see tasks through to completion

* A self-starter who can manage their own time and who proactively seeks and executes activities that will add value

* Has ability to engage with and drive the team to produce quality outputs

* Demonstrates a strong understanding of selling value/differentiation with the ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts

* Able to work within a multi-discipline team, good at building relationships and can influence effectively

The following qualities and experience are desirable:

* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud suite and specifically InDesign publishing software

* Experience with use of SharePoint

* Has knowledge of the MEP construction industry, or experience within a project-based organisation.
