Position: Bid Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Commission

About the Role (Its purpose)

The purpose of this role is to,

o Lead the production of all complex bids and quotations for the sales team

o Act as the primary point of contact with third party suppliers (specification, materials and

pricing) required for complex bid production.

Job Description (What we want you to do)

o Lead all aspects of the complex bid process

o Establish and implement a tangible and robust bid qualification process

o Achieve complex bid production targets and service level agreements

o Develop excellent relationships with third party suppliers

o Lead the R&D documentation production process

o Ensure the price book is accurate at all times

o Confidently articulate products, services and value proposition

o Hold a comprehensive understanding of processes and systems

o Work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues from enquiry to implementation

o Deliver all required complex bid reports and CRM updates in a timely manner

o Establish and implement a robust post bid review process

o Be prepared to travel to supplier and customer site as required.

The Person (What you need to be successful in this role)

Experience

o A successful track record in the production of B2B complex bids and quotations

o Proven experience of working in virtual team environments (sales, operations, workshop)

o Proven understanding of CNC manufacturing, technical drawings and specifications

o Successful experience in a multi-faceted role involving complex document production.

Skills

o Excellent organisation and planning skills

o The commercial acumen to construct and cost high value complex proposals

o The intellectual capability required to understand and articulate how their

products and services match customer applications

o The personal ability to collaborate, lead and influence a diverse range of people,

including third party suppliers, customers, partners and colleagues

o A demonstrable ability to problem solve within a commercial manufacturing environment

o The ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and manage time effectively

o A solid understanding of 3D CAD modelling processes

o The emotional intelligence required to work productively in a virtual team environment

o The ability to communicate concisely and confidently

o The desire to continually improve your capability to perform your role successfully.

Requirements

o Education: Technical or Engineering Degree (preferred but not essential)

o Intellectual Horsepower: High proficiency in Maths and English

o IT literate: High level of MS office capability essential

o Driving Licence: Essential

o Be located within easy commuting distance to (Blackburn) office
