Glasgow/ Edinburgh/ Hybrid/ Remote Working

The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a BI Developer for a leading privately owned collection of diverse and dynamic forward-thinking companies based in Perth.

As a BI Developer you will need to be a flexible thinker with the ability to analyse and visualise a diverse range of data. We have opportunities to mine insight from IoT devices, smart buildings, customer behaviours, computer vision and more. You’ll be able to package that insight so that it can be consumed by end users, management stakeholders as well as the internal team.

We have a wide selection of products which have reached the market, and we hold several patents across a range of products. Working at Chameleon Digitization will give you exposure to a wide range of technologies, such as mobile working platforms, asset management software, data warehouses and advanced analytics platforms, geographic information systems (GIS), virtual and augmented reality for asset management, document management, task and scheduling systems, workflows, payment processing and machine learning.

Overview of the role

BI Developer

Salary – £35,000 - £45,000

Holidays: 30 days (including statutory holidays)

Holiday buy-back scheme: Ability to buy back an additional five days of leave annually (through the salary sacrifice scheme)

Location – Glasgow/ Edinburgh/ Hybrid/ Remote Working

Responsibilities

To plan, design, develop, maintain, and communicate data analysis artifacts across multiple projects.

To play at active part in personal, team and organisational development.

To provide critical thinking and feedback to the team.

Develop, manage and test back-end database systems

Design, implement and maintain BI analytics platforms

Collaborate with team members to improve system performance

Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing support for BI interfaces

Use data visualisation tools to present data in a clear, concise manner

Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategy and planning sessions

Keep abreast of industry developments and technologies

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will be competent at developing and managing artifacts in the following technologies in an agile scrum environment using the Microsoft technology stack:

For Data Visualisation:

* Power BI

* Power BI Report Builder / SSRS

* Python

* ReactJS / D3.js

For Analysis

* SQL

* Python

* R

Personal Qualities

* Expert at communicating your ideas

* Expert at selecting and constructing data visualisations

* Expert at analysing data to find hidden insight

* Expert at using your own initiative to direct your work

* Proficient at engaging with colleagues outside of your core work

* Proficient at forming and nurturing relationships

* Proficient at learning new technologies

* Experience of defining and planning work

* Experience of data quality processes

* Experience of master data management.
