A specialist school in Reading is looking for a motivated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils who experience significant behavioural, emotional and social challenges, helping them develop the skills needed to succeed both academically and personally.
Many pupils within the setting have additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH difficulties and attachment-related challenges. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will provide consistent support, helping pupils manage difficult emotions, respond positively to boundaries and engage more confidently with their education.
This role is particularly suitable for Psychology graduates, aspiring therapists and individuals with an interest in understanding behaviour and supporting young people with complex needs.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils displaying challenging behaviour and emotional dysregulation
· Implementing individual behaviour support strategies
· Building positive relationships and acting as a consistent role model
· Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
· Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
