Description:

anzuk education is currently looking for a behaviour teaching assistant to work on a full time long term basis in a primary school based in Newport. This role is starting as soon as possible.

Position Overview:
As a teaching assistant you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to help the student overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will be working in the Learning Resource Base (LRB) supporting a child on a 1:1 basis.

The child is currently undergoing an ASD diagnosis so is needing support with engagement and behaviour management.

Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with behavioural needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Implement strategies and interventions outlined in the student's individual behaviour plan (IBP) to promote positive behaviour and social skills development.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where the student feels valued, respected, and motivated to engage in learning activities.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create and implement personalized learning plans.
Assist with the de-escalation of challenging behaviours and implement appropriate behaviour management techniques in line with school policies and procedures. Requirements:

Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or support worker, ideally in a primary school setting.
Experience supporting students with behavioural needs, including knowledge of behaviour management strategies and interventions.
A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and adapt support according to individual needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals. Working Hours:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
8:30am - 3:30pm Salary and Benefits:
