Working with: SLT / Learner Support Team / Teachers

Contract: Term Time only, including INSET, plus 5 days

Location: Berkhamstead (Hertfordshire)

At Supply Desk, we believe that every student deserves a chance to succeed. The Behaviour Support Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Working closely with our SLT, Learner Support Team, and Teachers, you will be responsible for daily behaviour management. You will also collaborate with our Team Leader to develop effective strategies and interventions to help students fully engage in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Deliver learner support (behaviour management) at each site, adapting to the unique needs of students and staff.

Act as the first line of support during key points in the day, such as student transitions and lunch breaks.

Ensure open communication by promptly reporting pastoral information and issues to the Team Leader.

Assist colleagues in managing student induction and transition processes.

Serve as mentors to complex students and contribute to the development of our mentoring scheme.

Maintain accurate incident records and follow-up with appropriate interventions.

Monitor attendance and proactively address any issues.

Participate in key worker meetings and maintain regular communication with parents/carers.

Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.

Essential:

✅ Experience working with students facing learning, challenging, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.

✅ Experience delivering interventions for young people with SEMH difficulties.

✅ Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.

✅ Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities.

✅ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

✅ Confidence and composure in challenging situations.

✅ Warm, caring, and dynamic personality.

✅ Motivational and inspiring, with the ability to challenge others positively.

✅ Good attendance, and punctuality.

Desirable:

Additional qualifications or training related to supporting young people.

Additional experience in behaviour support or educational settings.
