Engage Education is seeking a passionate, energetic KS2 Behaviour Mentor to join a warm, welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Gorton. About the Role
Working across Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), you will act as a positive role model and anchor for pupils presenting with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviours. You will run 1:1 mentoring sessions, organize structured active play and sports activities during breaktimes, and support pupils in the classroom to help them stay focused, regulated, and engaged with their learning.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering 1:1 and small-group mentoring sessions focused on emotional regulation, focus, and positive behaviour.
*
Utilizing sports, active play, and physical movement to engage pupils, build confidence, and teach teamwork.
*
Implementing proactive de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour plans in and out of the classroom.
*
Leading structured sports activities and games during breaktimes and lunchtimes to encourage positive social interactions.
*
Working alongside class teachers, the SENCo, and pastoral leads to track pupil progress and celebrate successes.
Who We're Looking For
*
Background: Sports Coaches, Activity Leaders, Youth Workers, or Sports Science/Coaching Graduates with experience working with primary-aged children.

Skills: Strong communication skills, natural authority, active listening, and the ability to command respect while remaining approachable and fun.
*
Mindset: High energy, resilient, patient, reliable, and passionate about helping children overcome challenges.
Requirements
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

Full eligibility to work in the UK with professional references covering the last two years.
