We are working with a dynamic SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Maidstone, who are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all their students. There dedicated team is passionate about helping students overcome behavioural challenges and thrive academically and socially.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties within a primary school setting. You will work closely with teachers, Therapists and other support staff to implement strategies and interventions that promote positive behaviour and facilitate students' overall development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, addressing their specific behavioural challenges and promoting positive coping strategies.

* Implement effective behaviour management techniques and strategies to prevent and de-escalate challenging behaviours in the classroom and other school environments.

* Offer one-on-one mentoring and coaching sessions to students, helping them build self-esteem, resilience, and social skills.

* Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement Educational Health Care Plans and behaviour support plans for students with SEMH needs.

* Regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of students, adjusting interventions and strategies as needed to ensure their continued development and success.

* Maintain open and effective communication with parents and caregivers, providing feedback on students' progress and offering support and guidance on managing challenging behaviours at home.

* Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and any incidents related to student behaviour, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a school setting.

* Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

* Patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude towards challenging behaviours.

* Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology, counselling, or a related field would be advantageous.
