Business Development Manager
£45,000-£50,000 + Commission + Benefits
Location: Cambridge / Midlands
Region: Greater Midlands & National

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business for an established groundworks and external services company, covering the Midlands and wider regions. You'll focus on developing relationships with commercial clients, identifying new opportunities and securing contracts across the grounds maintenance, landscaping and wider external services sectors.

Working closely with the Estimating, Marketing and Operations teams, you'll play a key role in converting tenders and quotations, building the company's regional presence and expanding its client base.

The Role:
* Identifying and winning new business through direct prospecting, networking, tenders and approved supplier frameworks.
* Developing relationships with property management companies, FM firms, housing associations and commercial estate managers.
* Promoting services including grounds maintenance, soft landscaping, external cleaning and pest control.
* Managing tenders and quotations, working with the Estimating team to negotiate pricing and secure new contracts.
* Maintaining a strong sales pipeline, supporting existing regional teams with additional opportunities and keeping client activity updated through the CRM.

The Person:
* Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within grounds maintenance, landscaping, arboriculture, groundworks, construction, FM or related sectors.
* A track record of generating new business and securing commercial contracts.
* Confident building relationships with clients and engaging with key decision-makers.
* Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
* Proactive, commercially minded and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload
