As part of this growth, we are now actively seeking an experienced Battery Test Engineer on a permanent basis.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Engaging with industrial equipment suppliers to commission and install equipment.
To co-ordinate with Manufacturing and Product Engineers to provide manufacturability studies for end-of-line testing in battery cells and module & packs while maintaining quality, safety and environmental standards and achieving targets in a timely fashion.
Developing plans and supporting the scheduling of trials and production batches.
Involved in the development, implementation and review of end-of-line testing standards, specifications, and customer qualification requirements.
Creating end-of-line test reports and records for audit.
To independently sets up and execute trials and tests.
Taking part in laboratory equipment reviews and bringing recommendations and feedback on topics such as measuring tools and inspection equipment or methods.
Report on activities on a regular basis to the Technical Lead.
Working with Commercial and Product Engineering on the feasibility of new customer opportunities.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
You should be educated to Degree level (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a relevant Engineering or Materials Science discipline.
You will be a highly skilled Test Engineer who has plenty of experience in Automotive Lithium-Ion Battery testing (Cell, Module and Pack), the programming and calibration of test equipment, the creating of test procedure steps and reviewing of process capability.
You should have experience of HV DC systems, as well as practical experience of testing Batteries for Automotive applications to include liquid cooled systems, diagnostics and fault finding and root cause analysis.
Should have hands-on experience working with CANalayzer, CANape, CANoe, PCAN.
You must be able to demonstrate experience of sound judgment with strong attention to detail and good organisational skills, having the ability to clearly prioritise work in a dynamic manufacturing development environment.
Should have an awareness of Battery hazards related to HV secondary Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries.
You will be able to develop and review Battery test and control plans, collating and reporting results in line with quality assurance procedures and protocols.
Should be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.It’s great if you also have the following:
R&D battery technology development experience would be advantageous.
It would be advantageous if you have a familiarisation of Industry standards, ISO26262 functional safety, Battery Management Systems (BMS), J1939CAN, regulation R100 Ver2, ISO16750, familiarity with UN38.3 DOT regulations.This position is available with immediate effect.
