Barnsley - Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Assignments
Are you ready to make a difference without having to plan the lesson?
We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to join our team and work across our fantastic partnership secondary schools in Barnsley.
Whether you're looking for the flexibility of day-to-day supply, want to get stuck into a short-term assignment, or are searching for a long-term opportunity, we've got something for you!
What will you be doing?
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll be the friendly face at the front of the classroom, helping keep students engaged and learning when their usual teacher is unavailable.
Your day could include:
Supervising classes and delivering pre-prepared work
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
Ensuring students complete the work set by their teacher
Supporting and encouraging students with their learning
Monitoring student progress and reporting any concerns
Working across a variety of secondary schools and year groups
Building positive relationships with students and school staff
Adapting to different classrooms, subjects and school environments
What are we looking for?
We're looking for people who have the right attitude, confidence and ability to connect with young people.
Ideally, you will have:
Experience working with children or young people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong classroom management and behaviour-management skills
The confidence to lead a classroom independently
A calm, patient and positive approach
The ability to follow lesson plans and school instructions
Reliability, flexibility and a professional attitude
A genuine desire to support young people and their educationPrevious school experience is a bonus, but we're happy to consider candidates from a range of backgrounds. If you've worked in youth settings, coaching, tutoring, education, childcare, mentoring or similar roles, we'd love to hear from you!
