Bank Support Worker - Male Drivers only

Location: Clanfield, Waterlooville, Hampshire, PO8 
Salary: £11.88 per hour + Benefits 
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis

We are on the lookout for Bank Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to be able to drive and have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love. 

Furthermore, as Support Worker you will be responsible for: 

Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration
Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live
Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities 
Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments
Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s valuesWe are looking for someone who can devote to 30 hours per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering night and day support.

Who will you be supporting?
You will be part of a fantastic new team supporting a young gentleman who is moving from his family home to his own home. The gentleman has a diagnosis of severe learning disabilities and autism as well as having nutritional needs and will present with complex behavioural challenges.
As a support worker your contribution will be invaluable. You will be working with support from Seeability’s Positive Behavioural consultants . Person specific training will be provided to ensure we are providing the best support available to this gentleman as he begins his journey in his new home and surroundings . 

The gentleman you will be supporting loves spending time in the community  and at home . He enjoys participating in activities such as   zip wires, hydrotherapy, walking and spending time using his Ipad.

It will be preferable but not mandatory if you hold Full UK Driving License to drive him at his appointments and preferred community based activities.

 Responsibilities

Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable him to participate in a wide range of activities
Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for person we support
Develop and contribute to the maintenance of  records and support plans and function as a Key worker when required
To maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet his individual needs
To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
