AWS Data Architect | 6 months | Inside IR35 | Hybrid | Central London
Our client, a leading global consultancy, are looking for an AWS Data Architect to join for an initial 6-month contract based in Central London. The Architect will be responsible for defining the roadmap for a database migration from DB2 on-premise to Postgres on AWS Cloud.
ROLE: AWS DATA ARCHITECT
LOCATION: CENTRAL LONDON (1 DAY PER WEEK)
RATE: £600 PER DAY INSIDE IR35
LENGTH: 6 MONTHS WITH SCOPE TO EXTEND
Key responsibilities:
* Understand the as-is Database DB2 on IBM Mainframe and define the roadmap to take the database onto the AWS Cloud – PostgreSQL
* Design the end to end approach for migrating the Data from on-premises DB2 database to PostgreSQL DB on AWS cloud
* Design the approach for parallel working with DB2 (as-is DB) and PostgreSQL (to-be DB) until the cutover
* Should be able to understand the Java Micro-service architecture and keep in mind to design PostgreSQL DB which is efficient and optimised
* Work closely with Technology Lead, Architecture, design leads to present the data migration design
Required knowledge and skills:
* Hands on Java programming language, and server-side spring boot and spring framework
* Data decomposition patterns
* Creation of entities, ER, cardinality, normalisation
* Experience with AWS tool DMS, SCT
* Relational, newsql and no-sql
* Experience of DB2, Postgres DB
* Experience of Data migration testing tools
* Data migration experience is a must
