AV Installation Engineer

Southeast England (Reading / London)

£30,000 - £35,000 + overtime

Summary:

Join our esteemed team of Installation Engineers within the Operations department. As a valued member, you'll be at the forefront of installing and integrating cutting-edge audio-visual systems for corporate, education, and retail sectors. From video walls to digital signage and conferencing systems, your role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless installations of high-quality AV solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Execute first and second fix installation tasks promptly and up to the desired standards.

* Demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools for hardware fixing, soldering, crimping, and termination.

* Collaborate closely with Senior Engineers and Project Managers while also showcasing problem-solving skills on-site.

* Interpret schematics, site plans, and drawings accurately, incorporating any necessary modifications.

* Uphold professionalism and accountability for the quality and efficiency of your work.

* Prepare systems for handover from installation to commissioning, including comprehensive documentation.

* Conduct thorough site surveys and assessments to ascertain optimal installation conditions and requirements.

* Foster collaboration across departments for seamless project integration and delivery.

* Provide technical support and client training on system operation and maintenance.

* Maintain accurate installation records and documentation for future reference and troubleshooting.

* Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, prioritising on-site safety.

* Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related issues or defects promptly.

* Contribute to the enhancement of installation processes and procedures.

* Participate actively in team meetings, offering insights on project progress and addressing challenges.

* Maintain and report on the condition of tools and equipment, ensuring they're in optimal working order.

* Utilise laptops for setup and testing of audio-visual and digital signage systems.

* Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in AV installation.

Key Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:

It's advantageous to possess CTS qualification.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and exhibit initiative.

Proficient in conducting installation activities efficiently and to high standards.

Exceptionally organised, adaptable, and adept at problem-solving.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Sound understanding of 1st and 2nd fix AV installations.

Proven track record of delivering exceptional installation outcomes.

Ability to interpret schematics, termination sheets, site plans, and projector drawings.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Familiarity with control systems such as Extron, Crestron, and QSC is advantageous.

Knowledge of video wall configurations, including Absen, Samsung, and NEC, is advantageous.

Understanding of video conferencing systems is beneficial.

Minimum two years' experience in production and wiring methods within the AV industry.

Possession of a full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
