TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Trowbridge, supporting with their recruitment for a ASD Teaching Assistant / Autistic Spectrum Disorder Teaching Assistant. Children and young people join the school with a wide range of different needs and bring a wonderful mix of interests and personalities. They aim to provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment which allows everyone to achieve their best.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this long-term role, although there is potential for this to become a permanent placement for the right ASD Teaching Assistant / Autistic Spectrum Disorder Teaching Assistant. The successful ASD Teaching Assistant / Autistic Spectrum Disorder Teaching Assistant will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, while being supported by a pro-active, welcoming and dedicated team.

This is a rewarding role and requires applicants to have a background of supporting children with ASD. The role is on a week by week contract with the opportunity to go longer term for the right ASD teaching assistant / Autistic Spectrum Disorder teaching assistant. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful ASD Teaching Assistant / Autistic Spectrum Disorder Teaching Assistant will have:

· Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities

· Experience working with students with Autism / ASD and behaviours that challenge

· Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent

· Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
