Location: Sunderland
Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: As soon as available
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours
Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience

Protocol Education are looking for an Autism Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist SEND setting in Sunderland.
The role would suit someone who understands that every pupil communicates and learns differently and is confident adapting their approach to meet individual needs.
Your Responsibilities
Provide personalised 1:1 and small-group support
Support pupils with Autism and associated additional needs
Encourage communication and social development
Help pupils access classroom activities
Support sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
Follow individual support and behaviour plans
Encourage independence and life skills
Work alongside teachers, therapists and wider support staff
Celebrate progress, however big or small
The Ideal Candidate
You may have experience as a:
SEN Teaching Assistant
Learning Support Assistant
Support Worker
Autism Support Worker
Residential Support Worker
Youth Worker
Care Worker
Most importantly, you will be patient, observant and able to build genuine relationships with pupils.
Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people
Experience of Autism/SEND is desirable
Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
A positive and flexible approach
Strong communication skills
Right to work in the UK
