Location: Hinckley
Pay: £105 per day
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, term time only
Start Date: ASAP / dependent on availability

Aspire People have partnered with a specialist SEN school in Hinckley who are looking for a passionate and experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and who understands the importance of creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.

About the Role

As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have autism and a range of associated additional needs. You will play a key role in supporting their learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and personal development.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism
Supporting pupils to access learning and develop their independence
Using appropriate strategies to support communication and interaction
Helping pupils manage emotions and regulate their behaviour
Creating a calm, consistent and structured environment
Supporting pupils with sensory needs and individual learning plans
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement in school

We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience working with children or young people with autism - essential
A good understanding of ASC and associated needs
Experience using strategies to support communication, behaviour and emotional regulation
A patient, calm and nurturing approach
The ability to remain resilient and consistent in challenging situations
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
The commitment to work Monday-Friday, term time only
