Description:

AUDIT SUPERVISOR / AUDIT MANAGER

Brighton | £45,000 to £60,000 | Mixed audit, accounts and tax

Plenty of audit roles at this level narrow you down to one sector and one type of file. This one does the opposite. You will run a varied portfolio covering corporate audit, some not for profit work, accounts preparation and tax, so the year has some shape to it rather than the

same job on repeat.

The firm is happy to look at this at either Supervisor or Manager level, so it suits someone ready to step up as much as someone already managing a portfolio.

They are part of a growing national accountancy group with a well established Brighton office. The group has expanded by acquiring successful independent practices and then leaving them to keep doing what already works, so you get proper local autonomy with the backing

of a larger business behind you.

THE ROLE

You will manage your own portfolio and take responsibility for two juniors.

- Managing a mixed audit portfolio across a range of client types

- Audit planning and management from start to completion

- Preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102

- Not for profit audit work forms part of the portfolio, including

  Charity SORP reporting

- Accounts preparation and tax work alongside the audit

- Managing and reviewing work prepared by two junior team members

- Providing hands on technical support across the audit team

- Working with the RI and Audit Senior Manager on growing the practice,

both organically and through fee acquisition

- Occasional travel to London

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR

- ACA or ACCA qualified, from newly qualified with solid audit experience through to a few years post qualification

- Strong technical ability across audit and accounts

- Some experience of reviewing or supervising junior staff, or ready to take that on properly for the first time

- Comfortable working across different client types and sectors

- Good communicator who enjoys building client relationships

- Someone who likes developing people, not just signing off files

WHY IT IS WORTH A LOOK

- A genuinely mixed role. Audit, accounts and tax, rather than being boxed into one discipline

- A defined roadmap to Responsible Individual, not a vague promise of progression

- Real input into how the department grows, rather than just delivering an existing portfolio

- The wider group brings corporate finance and M&A, tax and insolvency, so there is somewhere to go beyond audit

- Hybrid working, with the pattern agreed to suit

WHAT'S ON OFFER

- £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience and level

- Pension

- Death in service at 4x salary

- 24 hour access to a GP

- Employee assistance programme

- Electric vehicle scheme

- Cycle to work scheme

- Discount platform and cashback card

- Professional subscriptions paid

- Employee referral scheme

Title and package will reflect whether you come in at Supervisor or Manager level.
