Description:

Sewell Wallis are working with a York based Accountancy Practice who are currently recruiting for an Audit Senior to join their team.

Working on a broad portfolio of clients in the owner managed and corporate space across the region, this role will involve working alongside Audit Managers on key accounts.

Ideally you will be ACA / ACCA qualified / newly qualified with experience of working within Practice and your key responsibilities will

Supporting the management and delivery of audit assignments
Preparing client deliverables (including Audit Findings Report), building relationships with the client (including their teams) and acting as an ambassador for the business
Planning assignments, including budgeting and use of analytical review
Attendance at stock takes
Supervising, delegating and reviewing work of assistants
Preparation of accounts (including those under FRS102 and 1A)
Identifying, researching and helping to resolve technical issues which may arise
Develop a strong commercial understanding of the client's businesses and any developments within it
Initiate and work with other service lines across the business to the benefit of the client including referring opportunities where relevant and minimising risk (to both the business and the client)
Forming relationships with the national Audit & Assurance team across the wider business, sharing knowledge and best practiceRequirements

ACA / ACCA qualified / newly qualified
Accounting and audit experience is essential, including knowledge of UK GAAP, ISAs and Companies Law
Exposure to owner managed businesses is preferred
Strong attention to detail
Ability to build relationships with clients
Excellent communication and presentation skillsBenefits
